How to Install a Monitor Power Board43


A monitor power board is responsible for supplying power to the monitor's display panel and other components. If the power board fails, the monitor will not be able to turn on or display an image. Replacing a monitor power board is a relatively simple task that can be completed in about 30 minutes.

Tools and materials needed* Phillips head screwdriver
* Flathead screwdriver
* New monitor power board

Instructions1.

Unplug the monitor from the power outlet and disconnect all cables.2.

Place the monitor face down on a soft surface to protect the screen.3.

Locate the screws that hold the back panel in place and remove them.4.

Carefully lift the back panel off the monitor.5.

Locate the power board. It is usually a small, rectangular board that is mounted on the back of the monitor.6.

Disconnect the cables from the power board.7.

Remove the screws that hold the power board in place and remove the power board.8.

Install the new power board in the reverse order that you removed the old power board.9.

Connect the cables to the new power board.10.

Screw the power board into place.11.

Replace the back panel and screw it into place.12.

Plug the monitor back into the power outlet and connect all cables.13.

Turn on the monitor to test it.
