Rearview Mirror Dash Cam Installation Guide178
Having a dash cam installed in your vehicle can provide you with peace of mind, as it can capture footage of any incidents that may occur while you are driving. While professional installation is always recommended, you can also install a rearview mirror dash cam yourself with the right tools and instructions.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to install a rearview mirror dash cam:
1. Gather the necessary materials.
In addition to the rearview mirror dash cam itself, you will need the following materials:* Screwdriver
* Wire cutters and strippers
* Electrical tape
* Zip ties
* MicroSD card
2. Choose a location for the dash cam.
Decide where you want to install the dash cam on your rearview mirror. The best location is usually in the center of the mirror, so that the camera has a clear view of the road ahead.
3. Remove the existing rearview mirror.
Using the screwdriver, remove the screws that are holding the rearview mirror in place. Carefully lift the mirror off of the windshield.
4. Connect the dash cam wires to the power source.
There are two wires that need to be connected to the dash cam: the power wire and the ground wire. The power wire should be connected to a constant power source, such as the fuse box. The ground wire should be connected to a metal surface on the vehicle's chassis.
5. Mount the rearview mirror dash cam.
Align the dash cam with the rearview mirror and press it into place. Use the included screws to secure the dash cam to the mirror.
6. Route the wires.
Use the zip ties to secure the wires to the A-pillar and headliner. Avoid letting the wires hang loose, as this can be dangerous in the event of an accident.
7. Insert the microSD card.
The microSD card will store the footage that is recorded by the dash cam. Insert the microSD card into the slot on the side of the dash cam.
8. Test the dash cam.
Turn on the dash cam and make sure that it is recording. You can also check the footage on the microSD card using a computer or smartphone.
9. Enjoy your new dash cam!
Your rearview mirror dash cam is now installed and ready to use. You can now drive with peace of mind, knowing that you have a record of any incidents that may occur.
