How to Unbind a Hikvision Video Recorder58
Introduction
Hikvision video recorders are widely used in surveillance systems due to their reliability and advanced features. However, there may be instances when you need to unbind a recorder for various reasons, such as selling or transferring the device to another party.
Prerequisites
Before unbinding a Hikvision video recorder, ensure you have the following:
Physical access to the recorder
Administrator password for the recorder
An Ethernet cable to connect the recorder to a computer
Step-by-Step Guide
Connect to the Recorder: Power on the recorder and connect it to your computer using an Ethernet cable. Open a web browser on your computer and enter the IP address of the recorder in the address bar. This will open the recorder's web interface.
Log In: Enter the administrator username and password in the login prompt and click "Login." If you have forgotten the password, refer to Hikvision's official website for password recovery methods.
Access Configuration: In the web interface, navigate to "Configuration" > "System" > "Network" > "DHCP" on the left-hand menu.
Disable DHCP: Uncheck the "Obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP)" checkbox. This will disable DHCP and assign a static IP address to the recorder.
Set Static IP Address: Enter the desired static IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address in the corresponding fields. Ensure that the IP address is not already in use on the network.
Apply Changes: Click the "Apply" button to save the static IP address settings.
Disconnect the Recorder: Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the recorder and power it off.
Restore Factory Defaults: Locate the "Reset" button on the recorder's rear panel. Use a pointed object like a pen or paper clip to press and hold the "Reset" button for about 10 seconds. Release the button when you hear a beep or see a blinking light.
Power Cycle the Recorder: Disconnect the power cable from the recorder and wait for a few minutes. Reconnect the power cable and power on the recorder.
Verify Unbinding: After the recorder reboots, attempt to access the web interface using the old IP address. If you cannot access the interface, the recorder has been unbound successfully.
Additional Notes
Restoring factory defaults will erase all data, including recordings, from the recorder's hard drive.
If you encounter any issues during the unbinding process, contact Hikvision technical support for assistance.
It is recommended to configure a new IP address for the recorder after unbinding to prevent conflicts on the network.
